Wix day workshops (AC_02) (LO_06)

Today was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong day. But a great one. I am not going to write about everything that we did because honestly, we will be here forever.

Unique moments of the day;

i didn't expect the session to begin with a physical warm up, but it was great, even though I had literally just done a hard ass cardio in the morning, it was a good stretch. Doing weird things while you are with everyone and they are doing them too shows a connection, be weird together. Makes you more open and it's a great laughter.

I really enjoyed the little drawings they made us do at the beginning. It allowed everyone to break up a little from the seriousness and just enjoy life. The exercise is to close your eyes and draw whatever word we choose, for this one we went with panda.

You know what, the panda looks pretty cool, kind of abstract, kind of like a panda, kind of not.

It's also interesting to see how people work, everyone came up with something different. I find this exercise really interesting and eye opening. I am not really a fan of stereotypes, it doesn't allow your brain to develop and why should everything be the same? So, this just made me realise how easy it is come up with so many different ideas yet be only one insight.

The shopping cart was awesome! I don't know what happened to that spongbob...

Furthermore, I really enjoyed the the rooms they put is into. It was exciting because you never know who you are going to have. I ended up working with Anna, Shiv, Emma, Isaac and Maisie.

I love the fact how adaptive these are to the personalities of the people. I have been trying to make my portfolio so 'professional', but isn't really who I am. I am goofy, exciting, thinker, developer, so many things. Creating my portfolio in the look of a "professional" isn't my character. I want to go bonkers.

We did things for about me, previously with Alec we already did this, however, they had some good points which I will be able to add into my about me. The spoke about how in one sentence it would be good to mention some of the clients I have worked with. I have always find it difficult to understand where exactly I would put this information, now I know. The other thing they talked about is where we graduate and our achievements.

Designing website for a persona;

Another fun exercise we had is to design a website based on a person we choose in our room group. I worked with Emma on this and we choose Marilyn Monroe. We spoke about the traditional style and how the images would be black and white and when you hover on top would be red or the type would appear red because she wore a lot of red lipstick. The menu would be her lips and her mole, as that is iconic for her.

Things to consider when making a website;

- what is my website's purpose?

- what pages do I need to build?

- what work do I want to show? why?

A good website for portfolios;

Some useful points;

I came up with our little own exercise with my friends;

When we were doing one of the exercise with Shiv for the 'about me' section we spoke about how difficult it is write this. So, I though, how about we each write one sentence about one another what we think we are good at. At the end of it you have a whole paragraph for 'about me' section. This also will truly show what you are good at and not just try to sell yourself with higher pride.

(p.s. I know you can't see the link below, this is just for me and my future needs, lol)

To end this;
