Researching perceptual art

What is perceptual art?

Wikipedia told me that it is; " Perceptual art is a form of art that can trace its roots to the art history concepts of perceptualism as well as to twentieth century inventions of conceptual art and performance art."

We decided to look into this because we were interested into the idea of creating something with layers. The idea is that we take his memories, his photos, emotional objects and we print them and lay them out in such a way that in one specific angel it creates a visual of his face.

How to make it and how to get the materials?

Acrylic will be one of the best options however it would be expensive by the end of the project. I don't mind putting in the money however it also depends on Esther. For the arduino project I contacted Ikea and they were very kind and open to give us free wood that they don't need so we can re - use. I spoke to Derek about the space... he wasn't very helpful, so considering he didn't give me an answer for now the plan is to make this art in a small scale.

PerceptualArt - Michael Murphy

For this topic Michael Murphy will be an amazing example to show and research to how he has done this work.

At the beginning me and Esther were very much like... how is this going to work, what materials are we going to use, however, Murphy has used anything and everything from wood balls to waste materials and metals.

Due to money and short amount of time we will be experimenting with wood and acrylic.

I created a moodboard to keep us reminding and motivated to what we have to achieve and to be honest you might as well call it Michael Murphy moodboard..
