After revisiting my work from all of the three years I decided to begin my portfolio from projects of the first year.
So I began with the O2 project. I would actually love to re-do that work, because I don't think it's my strongest point, however, it wouldn't be on the screens, so I will leave it the way it is.
Work on portfolio before;
This was done in the second year of uni, without any research of what portfolios are like. I decided to start putting my work in a website and have it ready for now, so I can just edit it. This has definitely helped me with my time now.
Work on portfolio after;
I did my developments and improvements based on the workshops we've had with Alec from Intern. I decided to use 'elevator pitch style' to write my copy on the website. The elevator pitch consists of three questions and after that you have to narrow it down.
What is the project?
How does it work?
Why does it work?
It makes it quicker, sharper and faster to understand, you don't have time to waffle. I absolutely love this how much easier it is to write about the project. At the beginning is a little bit difficult, also it depends how much you know about the project! After that you get the hang of it.
One thing that makes me concerned about this is whether having random single sentences around my website is weird? Is it? Is it not? After I finish adding all of the projects and placing them in the same structure, I will be sending the portfolio to mentors and tutors for feedback and people from the industry of course.
