I don't know where to begin with this..
First of all I find it very inconvenient that Derek decided to change everything last minute. All of this could have been avoided if he had a better communication with us (social media team). I understand that he is a busy man and has a lot of things to look into and discuss and people he need to manage, but this is why you have to have people around you who can help you micro - manage others. Everything was ready and set to go and the day of posting everything collapsed because of him not agreeing to how things looked.
Some of the points he made are super valid. However, I said at the beginning of degree Show that last year the guys didn't push this through and it lacked a lot. This year everyone is doing social media especially with the pandemic. I said that we need to make sure we focus on it and he still gave all his focus towards the publication. I get it he has a book and he has a graphic design background and he is passionate for it, but you also need to listen to your students and see where the opportunities are for the future and social media is gonna always be there, it wouldn't get deleted, whereas books can stopped be published.

Over all this meeting was a bit mad. Everyone was thrown in the deep end of WHAT THE F***. Of course, we managed to turn everything around but that is due to our communication skills and management.
