I am feeling quite positive towards Design Fiction now. I think it has helped me as I have come out of my comfort zone and have met some new people and things!

Today I learned how to use the MeshMixer software! It's awesome! This is the software you use to create 3D sculptures and then you can print it! I was so surprised to how easy it was to use!

The second part of the day we had to go into groups with people from different courses and do some research individually.

I had the topic of biotechnology. I would have never though that I would ever learn so much of my research about biotechnology in Ravensbourne! I think it's awesome that we get to do things like this. I think as I know this information now I have bigger chances of creating more creative things outside of my comfort zone.

We had to look for things such as; how it can be developed in the future, the good, the bad, the beginning, etc.

Let me enlighten you with some interesting facts about biotechnology; -

By 2030 biotechnology will be as common as having a cell phone or going online. There is going to be an even larger number of biotech companies, both big and small, along with an increasing number of venture companies. In small villages or even at home, biotechnology might be used, just like Science Fiction novels. You might simply ask a machine to make some household chemicals you need, rather than go buy it at the supermarket. Biotech trash converts could do away with waste. Biotechnology could help to tackle large national issues such as; healthcare. Biotechnology will become a part of our life, from drugs, medicine and therapeutics to environmentally friendly chemicals, fuels and materials.

Today I also finished my collage for Tuesday which was - we had to create a collage of a sentence that we got given. My sentence is; - " A startup is setting drones free by tying them to the ground."

I made -

I imaged something along the lines of drones over taking our lives and the universe. Some people though it was basic and very stereotypical, but so what?! I though it was cool!

Until next time..
