Day 1....

I was low key hating this class as I didn't even want to do it, but I though okay girl don't judge too fast, let's give it a go and see how it well... goes. I met some new people and that was pretty cool, but I was also confused most of the time to as what Andrew was talking about. BTW Andrew if you're reading this, I got nothing against you... I just liked going into my own bubble.
So.. we started off by talking about 6 word stories and I though that was pretty cool as I did a similar project last year and I though I had it in and I could smash it.. I was wrong. We had to think of stories ourselves and to be honest it's not as easy as it sounds.
This is what I came up with..
1. When out. Got drunk. Passed out.
2. Today he was born. The end.
Well at the beginning I though at least I tried, but then Andrew started talking about structure and so on and I though well let's take my second story. You can easily raise questions with this, for example, who was born? what happened afterwards? did he survive, is that way it says the end? maybe you can ask these questions, or not... up to you.
The second task we had was to choose 5 design fiction ideas made in the world, to be honest with you there are so many words that I just don't understand in this class. But I promise I am trying!
So I managed to come up with some, but I just kept thinking they are pretty sh*t so I only showed one.
Stella McCarthy - moving mosaic
https://www.movingbrands.com/work/stella-mccartney
This one was pretty easy to think of because it's made by one of my favourite agencies MOVING BRANDS. "The diamond tiles were engineered to be individually articulated, creating a surface that responds to natural stimuli (such as wind direction, temperature and the movement of the sun) and people (triggered by sound, movement or even text message).
The tiles form a moving mosaic which can also be programmed (by a staff-controlled in-store interface or via a podium controlled by passers-by) in patterns such as wave, ripple, spiral and maze at speeds such as calm, energetic and random."
I think this is a brilliant way of connecting the marketing world with the audience. Not only people who enjoy the Stella McCarthy brand, but also the people around you will be encouraged to be involved with this moving mosaic and get inside the store to see what it is about.
What's next?
The task that we got set for next week was to create a collage with the sentence we go given.
My sentence was..
"A startup is setting drones free by tying them to the ground."
I think this was my favourite part of the day. I though WOOOW I can go absolutely mad with this. I can create the sickest and coolest collage ever.. probably wouldn't, but let's not loose hope.
So, I decided to create drones being mad and crazy and over taking the word and make a scene basically. Oh, we also have to make a very short like 3 slides presentation which has to have ..
1. Possible questions for us to ask this sentence and inspire us to be more creative
2. The collage itself
3. The visual information and the story of it
