I have really started enjoying my time in the prototype room. I think I have become and expert!!!
Funny story; Esther got caught that he hasn't done the induction so they took her and while she was walking around the room staring at me with bored eyes I managed to finish the whole work.
It's very satisfying and calming to watch the laser cut do it's magic. When I started uni I never though I would be using this machine and I will be making all these things. I think form this project I've been onto the installation and Esther has been doing the digital work like brand identity and I have really reminded myself to how much I like being crafty and hands on. It's good to remind ourselves of how things use to be back before technology took over and also of my artsy days at school and college.
I f*cked up...
So, basically... when you open the object onto illustrator you have to have their outline in the colour red because that mean it will cut the wood and not just grave on top of it. I had two outlines and I didn't think it mattered but it did! So here you see that it cut the inside of the gun and the outside of it. The top gun is what we wanted but the inside full of wood.
I learned and fixed it....
So, what I had to do was delete the inside red line of the gun which allowed me to fill up the gun with wood and have it as a hard object.
