Who are the competitors?

The competition for TeenVogue isn't actually that high. TeenVogue is a 'sister' of Vogue, which allows it to boost it's viewers and followers in the digital world. The biggest competition they really have is ELLE. However, Vogue is currently 'winning' over them which means that they aren't really a competition, but it still makes a concern and something to think about when creating content for the digital media.

Another big priotity that TeenVogue has is that the beauty and health director Elaine Welteroth is incredibly active with the audience.. until she stepped down.. ? Gossip.. gossip.. gossip.

I know I am writing about the competitors, however, understanding where the leader came from and the reasons she is doing what she is doing is actually making the magazine more special. Teen Vogue, allows their audience to connect with the main people. Not a lot of magazines do this.. to be so close to their audience and allow them to see the insights of their lives.

Elle magazine

On of their biggest competitors.

"In 2008, Vogue had 10% more advertising pages than Elle. But there's been speculation in recent months that Vogue was slipping, citing February cover choice Blake Lively as too down-market, as well as the loss of spinoff publications Vogue Living and Men's Vogue.

But thanks in large part to the Michelle Obama cover in March, Vogue's newsstand sales are up 5% so far this year compared to the same period in 2008, while Elle's newsstand sales through April are down 16%. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations' Rapid Report system, Elle's paid subscriptions are up 21% in April 2009 when compared with April 2008. Vogue saw an 18% increase during the same period."
