Experiment 1;
I turned my sketches into a digital design as a first step to see how it will look like and just get back into the digital design after months of writing my dissertation. This was my basic start up. I though it was good, but definitely not enough! It's very similar work to what I have already done.
Experiment 2;
I decided to try out colour! For some reason I am kind of scared of colour and illustrations and how exactly to use it. I like how to fact is following the squirt. It allows the reader to maybe experience and focus on the fact that they are 'cumming'. The typography definitely needs work, it's weak.
Experiment 3;
This is similar to the previous one, I was just experimenting with the fruit. The reason I have the fruit is because the first experiment is very explicit and as a magazine, I don't think they will be able to publish that. So, as an alternative I though how else can you show a vulva, a fruit.
Experiment 4;
This was definitely more typography driven. I told myself at the beginning of the brief that I need to make sure I don't just produce another provocative project. This is about empowering women and being educational. I like the simplicity, I think it's effective.
Experiment 5;
As I got stuck in a block of nothing... I decided to look into my previous work and take inspiration. For some reason I just didn't know what to do with the type..
Overall;
I feel very good with this brief. I want to experiment and try out different things. I haven't felt this 'buzz' feeling for experimenting in a long time. It shows that I am very into this brief and that I am open for changes and adjustments, but I also want to make sure I answer it right. My next step is to look into typography and make sure I experiment with it!!
