First day back

Sooooo.... BACK TO UNI!

I can not believe a year has passed and we are now in the second year. It's crazy how fast it when and to think how far we've all (the class) have gone. I am so happy and proud to be a part of such an amazing community and experience all of this. I think it's amazing even the fact that more new people have joined us and have the chance to share that with them.

The first day back we had like always so much sh*t thrown at us. Nothing new... yo know. Steve and Xavi didn't know where to start from - I really wouldn't want to be on their place on a new study year. They were talking from the new project Provoke, to what's happening next with the O2 to so many little other topics it was like ....

Yeah so ... moving on. One of the big shocking moments were when we when to the 9th floor and all of us we're like "OMG" where's own home gone?! New room?! Excuse me?! Change?! Urghh!!! I now feel like every year we are going to have a different room, don't get me wrong I'm not complaining... just sharing.

This year I really want to get out of my comfort zone and try some crazy things! I really want to risk it and learn from my mistakes. Something that I have learned from last year was that I need to stop caring so much to what people say about me, my life, my designs and my creativity. Stop taking it to heart so much because at the end of the I will take notice of all these improvements that I have made but after all it's my work I need to show I OWN THIS. This is MINE and I should be and will be PROUD of it! People have different skills and I think it's important that I look for help and talk to people who I haven't before to really push and develop my skills.

Going back to the new project Provoke. I think this is going to be a very interesting and fun project. The brief is about challenging a convention by creating a digital content that expresses an opinion in opposition to a prevailing idea or entity. I think this is so relevant to us youngsters and people in the digital word. A great example about this is people that hate or love pineapple on pizza! There are so many debates and arguments where this can be accepted or not and I must say my opinion... to all of you who hate pineapple on pizza.. what are you doing with your lives?! Pineapple so goes on pizza!

SO far in class we have discussed in groups different topics of provoking ideas such as; pineapple on pizza, cheese goes on everything, Nike, Benetton, Cfc Clapton, spirits or beer, manners, slang, Supreme and so on. Some interesting topics came up and you could tell how the room fired up as one end agreed and the other disagreed. It was interesting how we accidentally turned a digital argument into a physical and real one.

What I will start doing now is exploring topics in more depth and start looking for how digitally people have responded on them such as; on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, ads, YouTube videos, etc. I will also create a moodboard with existing opinions to review and develop a better understanding of what topic I want to do.

It was a very exciting day full with , wonders, stress, worries and so many mixed emotions to what's happening and what will happen. Oh and before I end this let's not forget about that two and a half hour stand outside uni because because of the fire or whatever reason it was.. there were too many gossips going around I don't even know at the end what happen, all I knew was that my keys were inside and everyone when home and I was dying to go to the toilet! Wonderful first day back! This however will not stop me!
