Reflection ...
•For this project I wanted to provoke men to show them how women feel when they verbally abuse us.
•I aimed this towards young female adults to gain confidence to speak out loud and show men how they make us feel by the things they say to us women. – “your skirt is too short” , “you look too slutty” , “you have too much makeup on” .. Etc.
•The project didn’t take off as fast as I wanted to. I had to step up my game and my illustrations to make them more uncomfortable and provocative towards the audience.
•From this project I have learned how to engage with online audience. It showed me how fast the internet goes around and how opinionated people can be without carrying. It was important to consistently upload online to receive constant engagement with people and keep the project going.
In the future I would change ...
•For the future I would extend my research further and post into my personal Instagram or creating surveys to see what people found provocative. This would have helped me to start receiving reactions faster and creating more content.
•Another thing I would do is a minimum of 5 chapters. I think the more chapters there is the more content I will have which will have the better filling the book.
•This can follow up with potentially being an actual book and selling.
•I would create a website which will only be dedicated to the slut maker bible.
Overall ...
•I think this project was very open. We had a lot of freedom and a lot of things that we could do. Personally, I think that a lot of people in class including myself found it challenging as last year we had more things that we had to think we reach a certain level.
•I did enjoy this project more than the more we did in the first year in the first term. I think I am beginning to see what I am good at and what kind of style I like to produce ( and I DON'T mean drawing penises and vulvas, I mean the style of drawing)!
•This project though me to be confident with what I do. After all it's my work. It's my shit! Even though it was a very out there project and very open with my illustrations I think I owned it as it allowed me to come out of my comfort zone. At the beginning of the illustrations you could see that they were portrait and very settle. As soon as I said 'fuck it' and I when for the full thing it changed me completely.
I'm ready for the next thing! BUT are you?!
