Today was a very interesting and exciting day, as always on a first day back..
It's so nice to come back and see everyone back into our little home. We got introduced to our unit which is the interaction and participation and I was very keen to see what we were going to do.
News N.1
We are going to help music streaming service Spotify stand out at events by creating a physical installation that encourages people to interact with a song.
We are going to explore the creation of digital products, how software platforms are used as a creative tool and the technologies involved. We will also learn to work in a team effectively utilise the input of others into the creative process.
News N.2
We are going to work in teams. We were all like yeah sure whatever like that's cool and then they said WE HAVE MADE THE TEAMS. Then.. everything when down hill, everyone started looking around panicking like is this real life?! I think it's a wonderful idea because in the real world we will always be working with new people which is going to allows us to expand our knowledge and skills of working effectively.
We talked about different companies and agencies that have done any participation work for audience, such as;
1. Snog
2. Inhibitant
3. My little privacy
4. The flipside of Slefridges
All these have done some sort of interaction and participation work which has allowed the audience to take part of their interaction.
Today we also have started looking at how Arduino works and we have discovered the a new website called instructables. It's actually quite helpful because people all over the world share these codes which allow us to create things such as how to turn a light or make a buzzer, etc.
Lastly, we also started looking at which song we should use. We looked at the elements of this song and started to think about the sound, artists, lyrics, melody, associations and the meaning. How all these elements can link together and help us be more creative.
Overall, the day was exciting and definitely interesting. I have learned some new skills with othe software arduino and the website instructables.
