The Avalanches - 'Frontier Psychiatrist'
One of the songs we choose was The Avalanches - 'Frontier Psychiatrist'. It's a song full of character and boldness which allows it to stand out from so many other. There are so many references, repetitions and ideas to create this as an installation. To be honest I think that at points there are in fact TOO MANY.
There are a lot of good lyrics in this song that can be used for display and create visuals out of them. We still have to analyse these song all together as a group because different people will see different elements. These are my personal thoughts to how I see the song and what has taken my attention the most.
I do like some the lyrics such as;
"that boy needs therapy"
"i'm gonna kill you psychedelic"
"you're a nut! you're a crazy in the coconut!"

Black Sun Empire ft. Belle Doron - Immersion (The Prototypes Remix)
This was the second song we choose. It's more simple and to be honest very very opposite in fact to the first one. The lyrics are repetitive, they don't have as much meaning, however they also do because that's all you hear which makes it more intense.
I can visualise using colour and movement into this for an installation. The bass also helps the melody to change up and down which kind of for me personally makes it more motivating in a way. It is also 5 minutes long which allows you to play around for long on the installation, but what you have to be careful with that is to not make it boring.

Overall, the first song has more opportunities for us to play around with the lyrics, visually and make it more creative. There is a lot of character comparing it to the second song which allows and possible might draw more audience towards the installation. It's very soon to be thinking about the installation but it's important to make sure you know what will interest them.
